The icon for "Language" is cut off in half on my 1280px wide screen. In other places (YaST etc) it's just called "German". Wouldn't it make sense to to use this shorter string in GDM, too? At least the "Layout" part of the displayed string doesn't seem to be vital and knowing the keymap is compressed with gz is not that useful as well.
