[Bug 1141933] New: xfs generic/388: xfs should crash missing fix
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1141933 Bug ID: 1141933 Summary: xfs generic/388: xfs should crash missing fix Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: mcgrof@kernel.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I see opensuse 15.1 has commit 2032a8a27b5cc ("xfs: serialize unaligned dio writes against all other dio writes") merged. While doing stable work I noticed that having this merged but not 1fdeaea4d9 ("xfs: abort unaligned nowait directio early") will mean generic/388 will crash immediately with the "xfs_nocrc_512" configuration. At least on the stable kernels merging this commit does indeed fix that issue. In case it is useful I figured I'd be proactive and let you guys know. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

To fix the crash I believe you'll want 6958d11f77d ("xfs: don't trip over uninitialized buffer on extent read of corrupted inode").
To be clear, I believe you want both of the suggested fixes mentioned here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

And just ignore 6958d11f77d.. that's not the droid we're looking for. Sorry about the confusion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
