[Bug 502089] New: celestrongps INDI driver (kstars) crashes after startup
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=502089 Summary: celestrongps INDI driver (kstars) crashes after startup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: dbouras@ieee.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071015 SUSE/2.0.0.10-0.1 Firefox/2.0.0.10
From within kstars, starting the INDI service for the Celestron GPS or NexStar telescopes fails. Tracing "dmesg" output reveals a segmentation fault.
Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start kstars 2. go to Devices -> Device Manager 3. expand "Telescopes" 4. right-click either on "Celestron GPS" or "Celestron NexStar" and select "Run Service" Actual Results: Error window pops-up with the following text: INDI: agent closed connection In the Server log pane one reads: Driver celestrongps: died, or failed to start Driver celestrongps: died after 0 restarts Expected Results: Driver celestrongps: rfd=3 wfd=6 indiserver: listening to port 7273 on fd 4 Cient 5: new arrival - welcome! ... There is an easy workaround: Replace /opt/kde/bin/celestrongps installed from x86_64 version of kdeedu3-3.5.9-39.1 with the same binary in the i586 version of the same RPM The 32-bit binary does not crash and appears to behave as expected. Apparently the source is not 64-bit clean. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
