Changing the file ending to .ttf shows the font files and they can be installed without problems. I'm using Opensuse 11.2 with the actual KDE version 4.4.3 from the factory repo. I encoutered this problem by trying to install the newest version of the Linux Libertine fonts. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open KDE systemsetting with the modul to manage the fonts 2. try to install a new opentype font by pointing to a directory which has the otf font file 3. in the file dialogue no font file shows up 4. changing manually the file ending from otf to ttf 5. now you can see the font file Actual Results: After manually changing the file ending from otf to ttf the opentype font becomes visible.
