The serial problem vanished with 11.1. For the USB serial converter issue, Lars got me started. The question was, why didn't the DCF clock operate properly hanging at a USB serial converter (Prolific PL2303), and the answer is: that device simply does not support 50 baud at all. The solution was to add a parse clock, that runs at 75 baud et voila, it runs like a champ. For the sake of completeness, I'm going to attach my ntp patch here, but already build that thing here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/frispete:/branches:/openSUSE... I tried to CC this bug to the person, who looks like the ntp maintainer: varkoly@suse.de, but bugzilla don't like that address.. Any ideas?
