alsa-info.sh --no-upload is looking for files in /proc/asound libasound is not available for me to load in the repositories I have. libasound2 is loaded.
Please read what I wrote carefully. You need to install the newer kernel from the given repo. If this still doesn't work, you need to load snd-hda-intel module *manually*. Then give alsa-info.sh output at this point. OK? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Have no idea where to find snd-hda-intel much less where to load it.
Don't think, just feel :) Simply do what I wrote: - Open a terminal - Run "su" to become root - Run "modprobe snd-hda-intel" (as root) - Run "dmesg > /tmp/dmesg.txt" (as root) - Run "alsa-info.sh --no-upload" (as root) - Upload both dmesg.txt and alsa-info.sh output to Bugzilla. Don't paste to the form but use attachments. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I opened a root terminal Ran every terminal command from it.
No, it can't be. Or, at least it had to give an error at modprobe. If it's really true (no module shown even if you load it), please prove it by giving the screenshot of each time you ran the command, namely at each of below: 1. Run "su" 2. Run "modprobe snd-hda-intel" 3. Run "dmesg | tail" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

linux-ryeo:~ # modprobe snd-hda-intel modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-hda-intel not found.
Is this still the result? If so, you must have written *THIS*. It's damn important. It implies that your system is severely broken. Not only about sound. Try to re-install the latest update kernel like: zypper in -f kernel-desktop Does this show any error? If this succeeds without any error, reboot. Then retest the sound. If the sound still doesn't appear, try again "modprobe snd-hda-intel". If this results in the same error message, now check the following: find /lib/modules -name 'snd*.ko' Does this show anything? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Created attachment 646139 [details] The output of a few commands meant to rebuild system.
You still didn't show what "modprobe snd-hda-intel" results in. Also, you didn't give the output of "dmesg" as root. *PLEASE* give what was requested. In anyway: now you upgraded your kernel to 4.2. If you will be using this new kernel, install kernel-firmware package from the same OBS repository, too. Some new driver may need some new firmware. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Everything I have posted has been from a superuser terminal.
There were no results.
WAIT. What system are you using at all? Did you install the OS on your hard disk, or are you playing on a Live DVD, rescue system or anything like that? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
