[Bug 396201] New: Sax2 ignores the current settings
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396201 Summary: Sax2 ignores the current settings Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: amantia@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I tried to use sax2 with rc1... It seems it always forgets the current settings. I started after init 3 to be sure, and run sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia. It recognized my card, failed to recognize the display correctly, it said it is 800x600 LCD, altough it is 1600x1080, but the resolution chosen seemed to be correct. I changed the display and the keyboards, saved the settings. When I run again sax2 (now without -r), it switched to 800x600 (looked ugly) and did not used my keyboard, monitor and driver settings. It used the nv driver... So now it is impossible to use sax2 to modify the settings. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

X drivers are very different even if they are supporting the same graphics chip family. That's the reason why with -m ... you start from scratch after your new configuration is written and you have started a new X session with this configuration _active_ you can call sax2 from _this_ session and it will read in your current configuration. If you switch from your current X session to a text console and run sax there sax2 assumes something is wrong with your current X session and will not read in the configuration -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
