Recently a patch has been posted, not yet included in the main WINE codebase, to improve performance in said game by removing a recursive loop. The patch is at http://www.nabble.com/0001-Sanity-Check-in-ImmSetCompositionStringA-and-ImmS... For the record, I didn't write it. Please consider adding it to the official OpenSUSE WINE packages.
