However, the system hasn't crashed: Control-Alt-F7 takes me to XFCE (lightweight desktop) which runs OK, except that the display resolution seems wrong and the title bar of each window is corrupt. Also the desktop icons are missing Looking at /var/log/messages/Xorg.log gives few clues, the Geode LX video chipset seems to be recognised and at 800x600. xrandr reports: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 800 x 600, maximum 800 x 800 default connected 800x600+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 800x600 60.3* 60.3 640x480 59.9 400x300 120.6 320x240 120.1 Running sax2 gives a warning along the lines of "the selected resolution and/or settings are not supported by the graphics cards framebuffer". Sax does start, reports display as VESA and adaptor as framebuffer, but crashes if I select "Test". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install OSL 11.3 ms5 on Geode LX-800 based panel PC 2. Boot machine after installation - login to XFCE 3. (results 1) 4. Switch to text console using Control-Alt-F1 etc 5. (results 2) Actual Results: (Graphics modes): Window title bars and footers are corrupted, icons are empty.
