[Bug 737690] New: systemd does not honour SIGPWR
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=737690 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=737690#c0 Summary: systemd does not honour SIGPWR Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: devel@fresse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0a1) Gecko/20111211 Firefox/11.0a1 My UPS issues SIGPWR to the init process and creates a file /var/run/powerstatus to notify the system of a power failure. While sigpwr.target is present no actions are taken by default, this is somewhat unexpected as the exact same feature was configured under out-of-the-box installations of opensuse 11.3 and 11.4. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have your UPS signal pf (powerfail) 2. alternatively touch /var/run/powerstatus and kill -SIGPWR 1 Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: System should be shut down in 2 minutes or until the shutdown is cancelled. While it's probably not hard to come up with a script myself I think this is part of the seamless migration service. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

What is the status of your change? Shouldn't we use sigpwr.target for this, that is to forward /etc/init.d/powerfail as a service required by sigpwr.target?
I have lost part of my changes, but what I could retrieve was: sigpwr.target containing: BindTo=powerfail.service and powerfail.service : [Unit] Description=powerfail handling BindTo=sigpwr.target [Service] ExecStart=/etc/init.d/powerfail Type=oneshot RemainAfterExit=false all changes to /etc/init.d/powerfail are lost, unfortunately :( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
