But the installation log justs ends in the middle. I even tried to rebuild initrd after installation, without success. Looking at Marco's last logs, they seem to contain the disk driver. Marco, can you confirm it? What would probably help as a temporary solution is to rever yast2-bootloader to use classic UNIX devices (/dev/sda1). Finding out why devices by-id do not work even if they are correct is something we need to fix for SLE11 anyway. BTW: When I re-run mkinitrd in running system, it reported a lot of warnings (like needs unknown symbol register_hotplog_dock_device. There are like 15 of such warnings on 32-bit PAE kernel. Someone decided to blacklist all 'unsupported' modules for modprobe, with the effect that modprobe refuses to evaluate any of those. Unfortunately this includes the dock module, which is used by some SATA drivers. So you're screwed for the default installation. Here the disk is not found and the kernel goes on. If I see things right in bug #11195, there the kernel hangs when trying to access HW. And it really hangs without telling the user that the disk cannot be accessed. Please retry with next Beta1 release. There dock is marked supported, hopefully things work out better then. Hmm, I close this one for now. I somehow have the feeling that this is not fixed with declaring dock as supported.
