OpenSuse 10.1 and other distributions suspends fine in the same laptop, so i suppose suspend is fully supported.

I'm sure the file is generated from 10.2. In fact, i do a fesh installation to avoid this kind of problems. I feared that :-) So this means that on ppc, somehow a hardware-event is triggered (maybe via APM emulation) that gets handled by powersaved. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but something i don't know much about, so the bug is assigned to the right people :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I reboot laptop in runlevel 3 and the problem is the same: freeze in the second sleep. Disabling the 'Load "dri"' option in X config file has the same result. I found that the problem is reproducible in Debian, and it seems to be solved removing the 'powersaved' package. Can you try this?. Hi, can you provide /var/log/suspend2ram.log und /var/log/messages when you disabled firewire before and suspended?
Hi.
Sorry for my late reply...
I reinstalled again OpenSuse (after some testing in Debian) and all the available updates, and the problem is the same, but now i have some new information...
As before, removing the powersave daemon package solves the problem, but removing the 'ohci1394' also solves the problem. Moreover, if i suspend the first time with this module loaded then it can't be removed:
serenity:/home/ignacio # lsmod | grep ohci1394 ohci1394 40304 1 ieee1394 114288 1 ohci1394 serenity:/home/ignacio # rmmod ohci1394 ERROR: Module ohci1394 is in use serenity:/home/ignacio # rmmod ieee1394 ERROR: Module ieee1394 is in use by ohci1394
I attach the /var/log/messages and /var/log/suspend2ram.log files after removing the ohci1394 module, as requested, and hope this information helps to solve the problem. For any other information, please ask for it.
Regards, Ignacio.
Hello again... Note that the 'ieee1394' module is not unloaded when the laptop suspends correctly... I mean, suspend works fine with the 'ieee1394' module loaded, but not with the 'ohci1394' module loaded.
