[Bug 255718] New: gnome-mount broken?
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=255718 Summary: gnome-mount broken? Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de gnome-mount-0.5 does not seem to work with the current nautilus version. (1) It makes nautilus assert (=crash if G_DEBUG) if hald is not running (2) It does not mount anything and eject does not work either (again) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=255718 ------- Comment #1 from jpr@novell.com 2007-03-20 13:39 MST ------- G_DEBUG is turned off in the latest gnome-session. I have DVD's mounting ok with that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=255718 ------- Comment #2 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-20 13:47 MST ------- Mounting works for me now as well, bug ejecting doesn't. There is just a GUI error message: Cannot eject volume Cannot eject the volume 'SU102Alp.001'. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Also probably install latest 10.3 release and try to reproduce it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=255718 andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Normal |Minor ------- Comment #5 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-20 21:43 MST ------- I have to excuse very much: It is hal's fault, gnome-mount is innocent. hal thinks eject is /usr/bin/eject, but on SUSE it's /bin/eject. This was already fixed in the past, but the patch seems to have been dropped from the hal package. What remains is the assert if hald is not running. Not fixed even in svn trunk, but minor. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=255718 ------- Comment #7 from hpj@novell.com 2007-03-20 23:51 MST ------- Thank you, Andreas. Since I still don't have 10.3 installed, I'd love to see a trace for the assert, if possible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
