[Bug 478380] New: floppy drive seems to be misconfigured to work with kde4-kfloppy
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478380 Summary: floppy drive seems to be misconfigured to work with kde4-kfloppy Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: gerhard.stengel@o2online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.63 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; de) Presto/2.1.1 If I try to format a 3.5" diskette, kde4-kfloppy always shows "Internal failure: device not correctly configured". This is strange as I freshly installed openSUSE 11.1 (no update from older version), so I expect the installer to set up the floppy drive correctly. There was no entry in the /etc/fstab for the floppy. Should there be one? I added /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto, user, sync 0 0 but that didn't improve anything. mkdosfs is installed and as root on the command line it works fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. launch kfloppy 2. try to format 3. Actual Results: kfloppy shows "Internal failure: device not correctly configured" Expected Results: format floppy Not sure if that is a KDE bug. Seems more that something more basic is wrong with the floppy configuration. I.e. copying a file to the floppy is ultra-slow. Packages are up-to-date from the 11.1 factory repo -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
