[Bug 340642] New: installer fails to create /dev/fd0
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340642 Summary: installer fails to create /dev/fd0 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dcb314@hotmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I just tried to install Open Suse 10.3 I notice that the device file "/dev/fd0" has not been created by the installer so that I can access the floppy disk drive. I did the manual command "mknod" to create the device file. I know my machine is two years old, but I expect Open Suse 10.3 to be able to access floppy disks without having to issue "mknod" commands. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340642#c2 --- Comment #2 from Michael Lanczak <esddss@freenet.de> 2007-11-13 12:13:25 MST --- Created an attachment (id=183229) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=183229) Floppy not implemented After installing SuseLinux 10.3 the floppy is not implemented. You see in 'Arbeitsplatz' (Workstation) the floppy symbol under the disks, but this is not access- and mountable. Mounting with the Shell (as systemadministrator) is possible, but you can't change the rights for the owner or the group and so the floppy is continued not writeable. No problem with SuseLinux 10.2! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
