I mean that it's quite hard for me to send you requested info being on the other side of the planet from the target PC. Let me just explain things one more time in depth: 1) 'quotaholic' pops Enlightenment LiveCD in and he looks at the wrong resolution (Xorg is started, but the 'xorg.conf' is wrong and he can't login to the system); 2) He presses Ctl+Alt+F1 to get into the console and now he can make some manipulations (or he passes 'linux 3' in the login screen and logs in console without X and without sax2 auto configuration routine). But I didn't include a postfix/sendmail into the LiveCD and even if I do - how should I explain to the person the steps to configure sendmail/postfix/msmtp/etc using his favorite mail accounts for example? (now let's imagine that we're lucky this time...) 3) Finally we've been blessed with the proper resolution, successful login and I can easily retrieve the info from 'quotaholic' to post it here. Well, I bet that /etc/X11/xorg.conf in this case will be hand-made (and you can see the skeleton of our future xorg.conf right below in the thread). /var/log/Xorg.0.log will contain no more suspicious data and the only file I'm not aware about is /var/log/SaX.log (I never configured my Xorg with sax2). Can we skip all this wonderful exercises and set some real requests? We're using the standard 11.0 Xorg version, we have an embedded ATI 1250 Radeon chip and a HDMI output. The monitor or television takes up to 1280x720 but only at 30 frames per second. Auto configuration failed to set all things properly. Please, we're talking about LiveCD here. Ok. We're smart. The solution is: 1) 'quotaholic' pops Enlightenment LiveCD in and looks at the wrong resolution (Xorg is started, but the 'xorg.conf' is wrong and he can't login to the system); 2) He presses Ctl+Alt+F1 to get into the console and now he can make some manipulations. I convinced him that it's a great idea to mount his Windoze NTFS partition and copy there the requested files (I can even write a bash command for him, LiveCD, no GUI, no copy-paste, remember?). 3) Am I the only one smart boy here who is aware that the default ntfs-3g mount preset in openSUSE-11.0 doesn't allow the ordinary User to write the data on NTFS? Ok, the root can do it (I REALLY hope the root can) and the 'ntfs-3g' package already on the LiveCD. Now the most interesting part... (drum roll)... Let's explain to 'quotaholic' how to discover the hard drives found by SUSE (if any), how to find the partition we wish the requested files should be copied to, how to mount it on the LiveCD tree and finally how to type the 'cp' command... (the end of the drum roll). I'm afraid that it'd be the best just to remove this bug and attempt that it had never been opened. I'll do my best anyway. But I don't mind to close this bug with any reason you may find convenient for this case. Thought that you've got a similar test PC with an ATI+TV and 720p resolution. The X configuration is exactly the same (and Xorg components) as we have in official LiveCD's. Just beg your pardon for the disturbing.
