[Bug 627474] New: after recent update of kernel, grub has 'Failsafe' config items append to regular items
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=627474 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=627474#c0 Summary: after recent update of kernel, grub has 'Failsafe' config items append to regular items Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 After recently updating the kernel (to a KOTD kernel), and rebooting, I had to manually fiddle the kernel boot params because the params from the 'Failsafe' config somehow got copied to the regular config. Oh, and what's the deal with 'DEFAULT_NAME' ???
DEFAULT_NAME is parameters which get all newly added kernel and after review of comment #0 I see that both desktop entry has valid parameters which is different from failsafe one. So I don't see any bug. Eh, sorry for confusing, DEFAULT_NAME is not used anymore. It is obsolete part which is not used anymore. Only APPEND and VGA is in use now. NAME is just preparation to a feature which is not yet implemented. So I close this bug as it work as expected. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
