[Bug 1204719] New: Sound card on Dell WD15 Dock not working
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204719 Bug ID: 1204719 Summary: Sound card on Dell WD15 Dock not working Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: rigo@w3.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have a Dell WD15 Dock with a Dell latitude laptop. The WD15 Dock has a sound card that appears in lsusb: Bus 003 Device 005: ID 0bda:4014 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. USB Audio I have loudspeakers connected to the Dock. In the KDE sound they are identified as "Line-out". I use the tumbleweed distribution. I upgraded from 20220920 to 20221023. In KDE, the "Line-out" disappeared and it was not possible to play sound via the Dock. This was tested with kernel 6.0.2. and 6.0.3. If I use TW 20221023 with the kernel 5.19 from TW 20220920 everything works fine. I get "line-out" and sound works. If I reboot under one of the 6.0.-kernels, sound does not work. The soundcard remains visible in lsusb. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

did not gain further insight. Then I looked into suspicious lines and found: Mr 28 12:54:12 montaigne pipewire[2281]: ALSA lib parser.c:2108:(parse_master_file) unknown master file field Syntax
This looks strange. This line (parser.c:2108) indicates that it's an very old alsa-lib (1.2.6.x). Are you sure that libasound2 got updated? It smells more like some inconsistency on the system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

pipewire-spa-plugins-0_3 seems inaccessible to me. I can't find it in OBS nor in the generic search. But I have attached a file with everything installed in pipewire. It seems libjack was not installed. Should I install?
Note also that pipewire modules is 0_3 while spa-plugins is 0_2 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
