[Bug 208482] New: Partitioning tool for repair is unusable
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=208482 Summary: Partitioning tool for repair is unusable Product: SUSE LINUX 10.0 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: abrahams@acm.org QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com If you use the install DVD and go to the Repair option, one of the tools provided is the Partitioning Tool. However, when you go to that tool the ability to set the mount point or the attributes are greyed out, despite the statement in the Help to the left that anything chan be changed. Furthermore, if you try to exit, either with or without making changes, you get the message that you need to assign a mount point "/" to the root partition -- and of course the tool won't let you do that. So the tool cannot be used for anything. Please note that this problem does *not* affect the partitioning tool for a new installation. I haven't checked it out for an update installation. I know there are other ways of fixing the partitioning, but since Yast provides the Partitioning Tool under the Repair option, it ought to work in that context. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
