Resolution of the screen is lower than the resolution of X Server. The resolution of LCD screen is set to 1024x768 (at least it looks like 1024x768 - don't know how to check it but it is lower than desktop) while Suse desktop is displayed in my laptops' native resolution 1280x800. I have to issue ALT+CTRL+BACKSPACE to restart X Server and then resolution is ok. This only happens when I wake up from hibernation (to be clear it's not a suspend state). If I start laptop normally from power off there is no problem with resolution. I suggest to give the intel driver a try (sax2 -r -m 0=intel). Looks good. For some reason 915resolution is not running during suspend. Reassigning to Mobile Devices. Dexter, please note that 11.0 is the last openSUSE release with the old VESA based i810 driver. However, your setup should work and I am not aware of any fixes for similar problems that went into 11.1 (apart from maybe the intel driver working better with your hardware ;-). Can you please provide /var/log/pm-suspend.log after you resumed from hibernate? I have some good news - the problem is solved now - I did a system upgrade a few days ago, and did a rebuild of sax database. I issued command: sax2 -r -m 0=intel This time it did the job, graphics now resume properly from hibernation, and I didn't notice problem with blue video image anymore - (btw. xine got an upgrade so it might have been a factor in this case). If You are still willing to look into the matter I can undo the changes and send the logs, but since i810 is going for retirement I'd say let him rest in peace.
