[Bug 216136] New: e1000 drivers need to be updated
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216136 Summary: e1000 drivers need to be updated Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ehall@ehsco.com QAContact: qa@suse.de The e1000 drivers included in the current opensuse 10.1 distribution have significant bugs that cause problems with IPMI. In particular, when the e1000 drivers are unloaded during power-down, they leave the NIC in a state that does not allow IPMI to continue working after shutdown is completed. The current e1000 drivers from Intel resolve these problems. Please refresh the e1000 drivers the next time you release a maintenance kernel.
