BUT: it would just be an additional useless player added, as we can't provide the codecs which are a requirement anyhow. The VideoLAN project takes care of maintaining a repository (with latest vlc and also vlc git snapshots, named vlc-beta) Using the 'community repositories' it's already as simple as possible to add VLC repo without knowing about the different URLs. Repo for 11.2 is also already available. (Also be aware that if it would be inclused in the distro, after a release only security fixes would be applied, no version updates).
