I install The pattern Gnome for testing I boot. I go in kdm (not gdm, and this is normal, kde is not removed). Was XDMCP removed from GNOME or can it be enabled as a fallback? Googling around, GDM used to have a "xdmcp/Enable" gconf key.

I had a chat with the KDM maintainer and he said it will take invasive changes to the KDM backend, so I won't try to implement it.
