https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=467988 Summary: Filesystem unmount problems during shutdown with Xen kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.19) Gecko/20081213 SUSE/2.0.0.19-0.1 Firefox/2.0.0.19 I've installed openSUSE 11.1 with en support. Some filesystem info: carrier4:~ # cat /etc/fstab /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part2 / ext3 defaults 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part1 /boot ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part8 /home ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part3 /tmp ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part5 /usr ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part6 /var ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SSun_CARRIER4_81E4E3A0-part7 /var/log ext3 defaults 1 2 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0 debugfs /sys/kernel/debug debugfs noauto 0 0 usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0 carrier4:~ # mount /dev/sda2 on / type ext3 (rw) /proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw) udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) /dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw,acl,user_xattr) /dev/sda8 on /home type ext3 (rw) /dev/sda3 on /tmp type ext3 (rw) /dev/sda5 on /usr type ext3 (rw) /dev/sda6 on /var type ext3 (rw) /dev/sda7 on /var/log type ext3 (rw) fusectl on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw) securityfs on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw) none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw) Now, when I shut down the system using the Xen kernel, then during the filesystem unmounting phase I got some error messages (see the attached image). I"ve installed both 32 and 64 bit versions with exactly same filesystem layout and both versions give very similar error messages during this phase when running on Xen kernels. This symptom does not happen with the default/pae kernels. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE 11.1 with Xen support. 2. Shut it down in a way that you be able to see the output of init scripts Actual Results: You will see error messages during local filesystem unmounts. Expected Results: This shouldn't habbe since it may even cause filesystem corruption. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Didn't track it down so far, I had the impression it does not happen all the time. But as I still have other XEN problems, I didn't look too far so far. I hope someone works on this?
