[Bug 1226443] New: Kernel panic due to use of Wine
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1226443 Bug ID: 1226443 Summary: Kernel panic due to use of Wine Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: senior.joker2009@yandex.ru QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have random kernel panics on fresh Tumbleweed installation. Not much information I can provide due to problem nature. I tested few games via Lutris with wine-ge-8-26. With one I had PC frozen completely during gameplay. With another kernel panic when closed game. There is also third game I tested in steam with proton. It skips frames. I believe all those problems are related. I can also confirm that I am doing everything correctly on the user side (I select a discrete GPU, proton/wine version, etc). --- Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240613 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 Kernel Version: 6.9.3-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 11.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620 Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. But I'll include full logs next time after error. Yes, proprietary nvidia driver from nvidia repository. --- Also test on manjaro with 6.9.3. Same bug. I launched opengl wine application. Did reboot after -> kernel panic. Did reset my laptop. Launched -> rebooted -> kernel panic. LTS 6.6 kernel works stable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
