When trying to import pdf or ps files on openSUSE 15.1 using scribus 1.4.7, scribus will fail with the ghostscript issue below (I tried ghostscript 9.27 and 9.26 from the official repositories).
My solution: Installing scribus 1.5.5 from the KDE buildservice project.
Error message:

Yes the only version working is 1.5.5 (e.g. used on Tumbleweed).
I think 1.5.5 doesn't use ghostscript for this anymore.
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to submit it as maintenance update for Leap 15.1 though...

agreed. scribus 1.5 is still a "development" version.
