Why bloating (by default) the system with uneeded packages/libs ?! I know, it is only a small lib, but small lib here, small file there... Ldap support requires openldap2-client, another package that could be not installed by default.. Many packages in the base system require libldap. (pwdutils, sudo, cups, autofs just to name a few). I don't think that this is really worth the effort. The dependencies of postfix could however be reduced a bit. It seems postfix.spec requires "openldap-client" by name. That should not be needed. The openldap libs are in the libldap-2_4 package nowadays and that dependency would be created automatically by rpm during buildtime. That package only contains the libs and should be quite a bit smaller then openldap2-client. "openldap-client" should only be required if postfix or some script in the postfix package calls the openldap commandline tools (ldapsearch, ldapmodify, etc.) Well I have a good number of packages installed on my desktop and openldap-client is required only by postfix and Acroread. The latter is not installed by default so removing from postfix requirements, could be enough.
