Now, hal does not crash any more. Media (DVD) inserted are recognized by KDE and opened. I cannot check vmware any more, because i uninstalled it in the mean time. Instead i have found the attached snippet in /var/log/messages (from powersaved). This does not hurt me, because frequencies and temperatures are in the known range. But it might be useful for You.
