http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=574567 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=574567#c0 Summary: okular 4.3.1 fails with undefined symbol: _ZNK7SafeInt3IntEv Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jw@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Today I ran zypper up okular and recieved okular 4.3.1 from http://d.o.o/update/11.2 after this, okular fails to start. I get this message: okular: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libpoppler-qt4.so.3: undefined symbol: _ZNK7SafeInt3IntEv zypper se -s libpoppler-qt4-3 S | Name | Type | Version | Arch | Repository --+------------------+---------+--------------+------+---------------------------------------- i | libpoppler-qt4-3 | package | 0.12.0-3.7.1 | i586 | http://d.o.o/update/11.2 v | libpoppler-qt4-3 | package | 0.12.0-3.5 | i586 | http://d.o.o/distribution/11.2/repo/oss v | libpoppler-qt4-3 | package | 0.12.0-3.5 | i586 | http://d.o.o/distribution/11.2/repo/oss v | libpoppler-qt4-3 | package | 0.12.0-2.1.1 | i586 | http://d.o.o/update/11.2 (the update was attempted, to see one specific failing PDF document would fail with the latest version too. http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=574567 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=574567#c2 --- Comment #2 from Juergen Weigert <jw@novell.com> 2010-01-31 13:43:07 UTC --- I do not understand bnc#570183, maybe. I did rpm -e okular libpoppler-qt4-3 zypper in okular and got okular-4.3.1-3.3.i586 libpoppler-qt4-3-0.12.0-3.5.i586 from http://d.o.o/distribution/11.2/repo/oss Instead of unresolved symbol, I now get this: Application: Okular (okular), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #6 0xb6fadc04 in KServiceType::serviceOffersOffset() const () from /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5 #7 0xb6f92300 in KMimeTypeTrader::query(QString const&, QString const&, QString const&) const () from /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5 #8 0xb40a8711 in Okular::Document::openDocument(QString const&, KUrl const&, KSharedPtr<KMimeType> const&) () from /usr/lib/libokularcore.so.1 #9 0xb4145773 in ?? () from /usr/lib/kde4/okularpart.so #12 0x080501a4 in _start () After this, I also downgraded libpoppler-glib4-0.12.3-1.4.i586 to libpoppler-glib4-0.12.0-3.5.i586 as available in the same repo. Now okular opens each pdf as blank page and crashes on exit with *** glibc detected *** okular: free(): invalid pointer: 0x082f08d8 *** ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib/libc.so.6(+0x6dc8b)[0xb60d0c8b] /lib/libc.so.6(cfree+0xd9)[0xb60d58d9] /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6(_ZdlPv+0x1f)[0xb627ef4f] /usr/lib/libpoppler.so.5(_ZN15SplashOutputDevD0Ev+0xb8)[0xb26d6f18] /usr/lib/libpoppler-qt4.so.3(_ZN7Poppler8DocumentD1Ev+0x9d)[0xb286fabd] /usr/lib/kde4/okularGenerator_poppler.so(+0xd3a5)[0xb28cc3a5] /usr/lib/libokularcore.so.1(_ZN6Okular9Generator13closeDocumentEv+0x9b)[0xb412674b] /usr/lib/libokularcore.so.1(_ZN6Okular8Document13closeDocumentEv+0x152)[0xb4112d62] /usr/lib/kde4/okularpart.so(+0x3c900)[0xb41af900] /usr/lib/kde4/okularpart.so(+0x3ce90)[0xb41afe90] okular[0x804fc28] I run ot of ideas how ti fix this situation. I do not require any security patches. I need a working system. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, you do not seem to have downgraded libpoppler5 to the distribution version, this may also be necessary, as this was also updated. Does it help? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks Christian, you saved me from becoming an acroread user. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
