Netware version: Novell Open Enterprise Server , Netware 6.5 Support Pack Revision 07 Server version 5.70.07 September 17, 2007 Host machine: # uname -a Linux playground 2.6.16.46-0.12-xen #1 SMP Thu May 17 14:00:09 UTC 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux The virtual machine is using LVM for its virtual disks. # grep ^disk /etc/xen/vm/oes2nw-2 disk=[ 'phy:/dev/data_vg/xen-vm3,xvda,w', ] --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/data_vg/xen-vm3 VG Name data_vg LV UUID 3ikBDU-OUON-kW9P-UV54-zTcB-juhB-ObOEnM LV Write Access read/write LV Status available # open 3 LV Size 15.00 GB Current LE 3840 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 Block device 253:3 As soon as I create a snapshot on the logical volume that I'm using for the Netware virtual machine . with: lvcreate --size=512M --snapshot --name oes2nw-2snap /dev/data_vg/xen-vm3 the netware will abend! I'm unable to restart/start the netware as long as the snapshot is active.
