[Bug 226410] New: Much Root Mail Report have ceased
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226410 Summary: Much Root Mail Report have ceased Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@tpg.com.au QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: jsrain@novell.com, siegfried.olschner@novell.com Root use to receive both a daily and weekly security report with directions to turn if off if the user wanted. These reports and other root mail has also ceased. I gather the security reports were turned on globally by on-line update and I found them helpful and the user could turn them off if required. I hope I have done something wrong, I remember ticking receive mail during this recent installation but root seems to be getting NO mail. Please do not tell me you released functionality and then withdrawn it as fundamentally this is very poor development management to withdraw functionality with the exception of it having a major detrimental impact – you guys know all that stuff. The user always had the option to turn them off if unwanted as described in each report. Christmas will soon be here and I want to thank everyone at suse.de for their patience, understanding, servility, and a complete pleasure to deal with. I see so many bugs with inappropriate emotive language use and to my amaze you all at suse.de seem to keep your cool. For that Santa will surely be very good to you!! Happy Christmas and thanks – Last bug from me for the year. You are talking about the mails generated by seccheck? If so, can you please paste the output of the following commands. - cat /etc/SuSE-release - rpm -q sechheck - ls -altr /var/lib/secchk/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I am sorry about the confusion. I do not know what I must have installed as an application/group at some point in my old system that would have included the sec reports. They just started. Is is clear that the sec reports were not as a result of online update and at some point in time in the old system I installed a package group/application that unknowingly help the rpm files for sec reporting. My apologies for the error -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
