The first application I tried (Open with file manager) worked fine. On switching back to my own login it was still not working. I wonder if it has anything to do with the KDED crash that I am also experiencing which the KDE maintainers tell me is a result of not yet using KDE 4.9.3 and Network management 0.9.0.3 If that is the case I am uncertain where to find those updates as they don't appear to be in the SUSE 12.2 repositories. That is KDE bugzilla #309719 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Upgrading to 4.9 fixes this issue. As an added bonus it has also fixed my problems with kded crash on login and Network manager failing at login too. Many thanks for your help on this.
