With all due respect. Would you please try to reproduce and debug the problem first before jumping to conclusions. I reproduced. But I really didn't follow your logic here. This openQA failed since the kernel removed the framebuffer, so Plymouth's patch could not work with FB. Bochs and Cirrus should use DRM as before this patch. Then, shouldn't it need to fix the DRM failed problem here? I think I can look at the context when the patch was made. When I checked this bug, I saw that Plymouth found tty serial console add, but no graphic device there. So, I don't get your point here. If you want the following work done from Plymouth's side, then what do you want Plymouth to do after remove the patch?
