After updating to KDE SC 4.10 using the KDE:Release:410 repository, whenever I
connect to my tightvnc-1.3.10 server that runs openSUSE 12.2, KRDC crashes.
This did not happen in KDE SC 4.9. The connection to RDP servers works
properly.
This bug report was already posted in bugs.kde.org, and has been confirmed by
ilmc888. I'm posting it here on request by Urs Wolfer from KDE, who suggests
it's a packaging issue in openSUSE:

No, that's not what he suggests. the krdc packaging is not the cause of this crash. (In reply to comment #7)
I've SR this to KR410. A little feedback would be nice.
The changes in libvncclient between the 12.2 and factory packages are way too important to accept this request. (it's not just a version update, some intrusive patches were also added in the package) I suggest opening a bug report for libvncserver and also testing packages that depend on these libraries -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Guido, just to clarify, I meant to update the 12.2 libvncserver to the version from 12.3.
Since the libvncserver version in 12.3 also has TLS support enabled it wouldn't make a difference to what we have now. The problem is that enabling TLS support in libvncserver breaks the ABI (it adds a member in the middle of a struct) although that does not affect the consumers within the distribution. So I see two options: 1) revert openSUSE-RU-2012:1495-1 by issuing another maintenance update, this would fix community/third party packages but cause a regression in remmina 2) leave it as it is, the supported version of remmina and kdrc from 12.3 work fine, but unsupported community/third party packages built against 12.3 might not work (this bug) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
