[Bug 426290] PackageKit: please package Smart backend
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426290 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426290#c6 --- Comment #6 from Cristian Morales Vega <christian.morales.vega@gmail.com> 2012-06-19 17:44:13 UTC --- I guess the suggestion was to upgrade openSUSE... and change to ZYpp. The problem is that ZYpp is now based in satsolver and satsolver is smarter than Smart. ZYpp is also more integrated with openSUSE (Smart doesn't know about RPM soft dependencies!!). openSUSE didn't have a really working dependency manager for some time and Smart saved the party. But it's not the case any more. Nobody in openSUSE is interested in Smart. It's great that you still maintain it after Gustavo left, but if you want it in openSUSE you are going to have to maintain the package yourself. As you can see nowadays nobody is even interested in updating it in system:packagemanager (unsupported repository). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
