Appearantly you reported the bug to the KDE maintainers. Will I receive any further information, like whether the cause of the bug is found and solved (supposedly in 11.2)? After installing it, and logging out (plus switching off the machine) I am not able to login to the user again. The fact that I'm not able to log in as user Julien only is true for the login under X, after starting the machine, when a login-screen is presented. At that point I can try to make logins, but they all fail. However, if I login as root and jump to a console with eg. ALT_CTL_F2, I am able to login as user Julien. So it appears to be a X problem. Mention this as this might be usefull to you. As a matter of fact, if this might shorten the process of solving the process of finding a solution: I'd be happy to give you a call, and then you could ask me questions about my machine/configuration. However: there were only a few files falling under the "~/.x*"-definition: ls .x* xim.template .xinitrc.template .xsession-errors so also the ~/.xinitrc was absent, and probably not broken. Personally I have my doubts on files under .kde* -directories. I "made" a new user Julien, without using my former homepartition. Little by little I'll copy the applications from my old ~/-partition to the new partition, and will continue till things fail. Then I spotted the error as well. Will tell you how things ended, end hopefully also the source of the error.
