[Bug 179702] Latest HP laptops do not reach max cpufreq, might not update thermal, battery info or could get "bad firmware state" that even survives shutdown. Caused by probably wrong/unfinished ACPI BIOS/EC read/writes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=179702 ------- Comment #109 from m.magua@gmail.com 2007-01-11 23:58 MST ------- Hi I'm not sure whether I should add this here or open a new bug. I own and HP NX 9420 with bios F.17 and running openSUSE 10.2 on it. I rebuilt the kernel by compiling psmouse as a module and doing the necessary changes to /etc/sysconfig/kernel and /etc/init.d/halt.local. The problem I'm having is that when I remove my AC adapter the laptop immediately starts powering down. This is a clean shutdown. SuSE just drops from run level 5 to 0. Shutting down all services cleanly. Does anyone else have this problem? Any workaround? If I have posted on the wrong place please let me know and I'll open a new bug.
