Maybe it was upgraded from oss, I don't know. I updated suse im using with zypper dup to 12.3 updated xf86-video-ati and now I've got the same Mesa as you have. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799117 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799117#c12 --- Comment #12 from Björn Voigt <bjoernv@arcor.de> 2013-04-04 17:43:04 UTC --- I had the issue in OS 12.3 with Kernel 3.8 (from Kernel:Stable), Radeon HD 3450 and the open source driver "radeon". Screen flashing and error [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation -35 was shown in "dmesg" often after resuming from suspend-to-disk. I tried two options to resolve the issue. First I tried the radeon driver from Fedora 18 update (xorg-x11-drv-ati-7.0.0-0.9.20121015gitbd9e2c064.fc18, recompiled for openSUSE, found here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=849347). This resolved the issue, but the driver itself was relatively unstable in OS 12.3. Several times the Xorg server crashed with bus errors in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so). Second I tried the X11:Xorg repository as recommended above in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799117#c5 The second options runs fine since one week. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The screen will keep flashing, and the journal would fill up with: [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation -35! radeon 0000:02:00.0: GPU reset succeeded, trying to resume [drm] enabling PCIE gen 2 link speeds, disable with radeon.pcie_gen2=0 radeon 0000:02:00.0: WB enabled radeon 0000:02:00.0: fence driver on ring 0 use gpu addr 0x0000000040000c00 and cpu addr 0xffff88012c1edc00 [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation -35! radeon 0000:02:00.0: GPU reset succeeded, trying to resume [drm] enabling PCIE gen 2 link speeds, disable with radeon.pcie_gen2=0 I first noticed the bug when trying to resume after a suspend, but then I found the Fedora bug report Björn mentions (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=849347) and discovered that the bug could also be triggered from VT-switching. I just installed xf86-video-ati-7.1.0-2.1 from openSUSE:Factory, and both suspend/resume and VT-switching seems to be working now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
