https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=332011 Summary: Many java programs (Azureus, Netbeans) do not work under OpenSuse 10.3 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Java AssignedTo: bnc-team-java@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: petrikl@atlas.cz QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=176915) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=176915) Azureus crash report It's very disappointing to have to report that many java applications do not work with OpenSuse 10.3. I tried just few of them (Azureus, Netbeans 6beta1) and none worked properly, with default java 1.5, nor java 1.6u1 from your repository. Problem seems to be related to some libraries as simple java GUI application work. Azureus3 (downloaded from the official repository) with "your" official sun java 1.6u1: java -version java version "1.6.0_01" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_01-b06) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_01-b06, mixed mode) user1@host1> which azureus /usr/bin/azureus user1@host1> azureus java virtual machine used: /usr/lib64/jvm/jre/bin/java classpath used: /usr/share/java/Azureus/Azureus3.jar:/usr/share/java/Azureus/swt.jar main class used: org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main flags used: options used: -Xms16m -Xmx128m -Djava.library.path=/usr/lib64/Azureus:/usr/lib/Azureus changeLocale: *Default Language* != English (United States). I can provide the bugreport output if requested. What caught my eye is the glibtop message about not being able to read /proc/stat. After further investigation this message is repeated way too many times in the logs, could that be the reason that programs fail? I'll be happy to provide any additional information. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Removing bug-buddy also work for me. Now Netbeans and Azureus work for me as well. However I still think that this is something that should be fixed or at least get better documented as bug-buddy is installed by default. I spend a lot of time searching the web for solution before posting this bug and did not find this easy workaround. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
