Thus I would like to ask you to report this issue upstream on bugs.freedesktop.org according to http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html and add me to Cc (sndirsch@suse.de). You'll need to register for an account on bugs.freedesktop.org first, in case you don't have one yet. Athlon64 X2 AMD690 chipset with integrated Radeon X1250 (ASUS M2A-VM). Then I noticed an error message when re-installing GoogleEarth after completely re-installing suse. "./googleearth-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" So I tried creating a symlink to /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1 and reinstalling GoogleEarth. This resulted in the following error message. "./googleearth-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64" So I installed mesa32 which provides the 32bit version of libGL.so.1 and created a new symlink. This resulted in the following message. "do_wait: drmWaitVBlank returned -1, IRQs don't seem to be working correctly. Try adjusting the vblank_mode configuration parameter." GoogleEarth now starts up very slowly but at least no longer causes Xwindows to crash. It may well be a problem with GoogleEarth I don't know, but I sure would like Stefan to take another look at this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Most likely you're using the fglrx driver. Unfortunately this driver is currently completely broken on openSUSE 11.1-x86_64. I informed ATI about it, but didn't hear anything back from them until now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I would not expect a user application to be able to crash x windows. As I said I did a complete reinstall of openSUSE and the attached info includes the output of glxinfo -v lspci -vv and hwinfo -gfxcard. All suggest I am using the default radeonhd driver. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
