Also, please get alsa-info output for both with and without alsa-driver-kmp installed, and with HP plugged and unplugged, then attach 4 files. The issue with sound level is not exactly a "bug". The hardware provide just too large volume scale, so in the percentage representation it looks weird. Look at dB level expression in alsamixer. It's an issue to be improved, though. Without the alsa-driver-kmp (and alsa-driver-unstable-kmp), there is sound only it the HP are plugged in (there is no sound from the netbook speakers if the HP are unplugged). is there any other info you need to see if there is a difference?? generate the tsalsa output if you need it. The patches are now merged into the kernel source tree so that the next update kernel will include the fix. So let's close this bug here.

Hi, I'm running a vanilla kernel 2.6.28.8 (not in OpenSuse) and I'm having problems with sound on same laptop. Is that kernel supposed to have the fix? Could you point to the upstream commit? I've had the chance to install 2.6.29 today and sound works out of the box now in the HP mini 1000. Just a small annoyance. After playing a sound I hear a click, rather loud, similar to when you plug/unplug a mic or headphones. I've played with alsamixer volumes but nothing seems to solve it. Any clue of how to fix it?
