This makes Impress pretty useless, since I don't know when an object is selected, and I cannot change its size. Create a new presentation or drawing. 2. Select the rectangle tool. 3. Draw a rectangle. 4. Normally you get handles on the corners of the rectangle and on the sides, but they don't appear for me. Just on the outside chance that there's some setting involved, can you try this with a new user? Adjusting severity. If this is reproducible, it's a major loss of functionality, but it's not a crash or data loss. After talking with Federico, he mentioned that the bug was probably fixed in beta2.
