[Bug 569582] New: rdiff-backup support for ACL not configured in package dependencies
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=569582 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=569582#c0 Summary: rdiff-backup support for ACL not configured in package dependencies Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: piny@gmx.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=335801) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=335801) bash script to run test case for rdiff-backup with ACLs User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091222 SUSE/3.5.7-2.4 Firefox/3.5.7 rdiff-backup is included in standard repository openSUSE-11.2-Oss http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/ Execution of rdiff-backup on a filesystem with ACL enabled <code> $>mount | grep home /dev/sda6 on /home type ext4 (rw,acl,user_xattr) </code> results in rdiff-backup message complaining about missing ACL support on the source and backup file systems, despite that rdiff-backup supports ACL according to official documentation (e.g. man page) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. rdiff-backup -v5 source_dir backup_dir Actual Results: <output> Using rdiff-backup version 1.2.6 Unable to import module attr. Extended attributes not supported on filesystem at source_dir Unable to import module posix1e from pylibacl package. POSIX ACLs not supported on filesystem at source_dir </output> and similar for target_dir ACLs are not included in the backup Expected Results: ACL support by automatic package dependency in e.g. Yast/zypper "... you need to "apt-get install python-pylibacl"... you can also throw in python-pyxattr if you want extended attributes. .." (http://osdir.com/ml/sysutils.backup.rdiff-backup.general/2005-07/msg00027.ht...) Looking for these two modules in openSUSE Build Service gives two hits: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/openSUSE_... http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/miniwark:/python/openSUSE_11... Installation of both packages gives expected result, see attached test case. rdiff-backup is an excellent "run unattended" tool (I have installed a backup on every shutdown via /etc/halt.local) that should be fully supported. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
