[Bug 170067] New font antialiasing configuration looks ugly
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=170067 ------- Comment #17 from mfabian@novell.com 2006-10-25 09:59 MST ------- Dirk Müller> Mike: I thought so as well, but apparently font rendering Dirk Müller> is optimized for certain font sizes, e.g. 96dpi, which is Dirk Müller> the default in windows. I still don't believe that. By the way, the problem reported here goes away if one uses the byte code interpreter instead of the autohinter for the Déjà Vu fonts. I.e. this is just a problem of the autohinter, with the byte code it looks nice in all sizes. The Déjà Vu developers told me that they have invested a lot of effort to add good byte code instructions to the glyphs, using the autohinter throws all this work away. As this bug can be fixed by using the byte code interpreter instead of the autohinter for the Déjà Vu fonts, it is a duplicate of bug #186109. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
