When I boot safe mode system don't freeze but I haven't got sounds, too.If I try automatic detection it run and run, but it don't find my soundcard. If I try alsa all seems to going right but I haven't got sounds. Try to disable the sound once. Then boot in the normal mode and check whether the freeze still occurs. Also, try to boot with pci=noacpi boot option. I haven't got sounds in safe mode too and it's with Frozen Bubble same kind as normal booting. If pci=noacpi will fix the problem, problem is with acpi. I changed computer to Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo. And I have problems with installaton. I have installed Kubuntu now because Suse installation halted. I think it's because of hard drive detection. I could do partitioning, but after this all in my system halted and I had to restart computer. I think you can close this bug, but what do you think, is it better that I'll try install OpenSuse 10.3 Alpha and I'll give one new bug report? I hope that I could to use Suse as my primary OS.
