When I plug into the network in the Novell Cambridge office, or use the wireless, my laptop is assigned an IP address, but seems to have no DNS capability. I can reach another machine in my office by IP address, but can't reach anything on Novell's innerweb, nor anything on the internet. This makes it impossible for me to work in the office with openSUSE 11.4 running (I have to boot into Windows 7 when I'm in the office). I moved it to another directory and restarted the network daemon, and the network started working again. Thanks for your help!
