[Bug 1208461] New: (GTK?) apps switch to tiny fonts
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1208461 Bug ID: 1208461 Summary: (GTK?) apps switch to tiny fonts Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: 64bit OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: alanjprescott@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- In certain apps (firefox, chromium, calibre) which I believe are GTK-based apps the font size keeps switching to very tiny and then back to normal Trying to work out the sequence is not easy but here's what I found. I run daily updates and so far this week I've had:- Sunday - Ok Monday - normal sized fonts Tuesday - tiny fonts Wednesday - normal sized fonts Thursday - tiny fonts Friday - normal sized fonts Saturday - tiny fonts As far as I'm aware I've changed no system settings myself (while searching for a resolution) but it seems to change font size in synchronisation with updates. One deviation from too small is that in the clock settings dialog, the selected font size *is* as expected, though as applied it's half size. # inxi -GSaz System: Kernel: 6.1.12-1-default arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 12.2.1 parameters: root=LABEL=10stw64 ipv6.disable=1 net.ifnames=0 noresume mitigations=auto consoleblank=0 5 Console: pty pts/3 wm: kwin_x11 DM: 1: KDM 2: XDM Distro: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20230226 Graphics: Device-1: Intel 4 Series Integrated Graphics vendor: Dell driver: i915 v: kernel arch: Gen-5 process: Intel 45nm built: 2008 ports: active: DP-1,DVI-D-1 empty: HDMI-A-1,VGA-1 bus-ID: 00:02.0 chip-ID: 8086:2e12 class-ID: 0300 Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 21.1.7 with: Xwayland v: 22.1.8 compositor: kwin_x11 driver: X: loaded: modesetting dri: crocus gpu: i915 display-ID: :0 screens: 1 Screen-1: 0 s-res: 3600x1200 s-dpi: 120 s-size: 762x254mm (30.00x10.00") s-diag: 803mm (31.62") Monitor-1: DP-1 pos: primary, left model: NEC EA243WM serial: <filter> built: 2011 res: 1920x1200 hz: 60 dpi: 94 gamma: 1.2 size: 519x324mm (20.43x12.76") diag: 612mm (24.1") ratio: 16:10 modes: max: 1920x1200 min: 640x480 Monitor-2: DVI-D-1 pos: right model: Dell P2213 serial: <filter> built: 2012 res: 1680x1050 hz: 60 dpi: 90 gamma: 1.2 size: 473x296mm (18.62x11.65") diag: 558mm (22") ratio: 16:10 modes: max: 1680x1050 min: 720x400 API: OpenGL v: 2.1 Mesa 22.3.5 renderer: Mesa Intel Q45/Q43 (ELK) direct-render: Yes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Another, fi965, using amdgpu DDX and dri radeonsi, is doing exactly the same in Plasma/X11 as in gx760, plus generating a ksplashqml closed unexpectedly segfault popup on login. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
