https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826436 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826436#c0 Summary: Application:Geo/gpsbabel: no longer handles Globalsat BT-338X GPS Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: mhrusecky@suse.com ReportedBy: vmiklos@suse.com QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com CC: nadvornik@suse.com, opensuse@dstoecker.de, tzotsos@gmail.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi, Actually, I'm not sure if this is a bug in gpsbabel itself or some problem in lower layers, like kernel's bluetooth stack, feel free to reassign if that's needed. Till I was on openSUSE 12.2, I used a Globalsat BT-338X GPS via bluetooth with gpsbabel without problems. This is a gps logger, and logged data can be downloaded to the SUSE box using something like this: ---- rfcomm bind 0 00:0D:B5:38:BA:C6 gpsbabel -i dg-100 -f /dev/rfcomm0 -o gpx -F output.gpx ---- Sometimes I already had the following two errors: ---- unknown answer ID 12 ---- or: ---- dg100_recv_byte(): read timeout ----- But in case those errors occurred, I just had to re-try and it worked like a charm second (or at rare occasions -- third) time. However, since I upgraded to openSUSE 12.3, now I get a different error message: ---- Expected to read 106 bytes, but got 105 ---- And I have no way to download the gps track. If I boot an openSUSE 12.2 live dvd on the same machine, download works again. In case bluetooth hardware counts, this is on a Lenovo ThinkPad T520. The bluetooth hardware otherwise looks OK, e.g. I can send files from my phone to the laptop without problems. If more info is needed, please ask. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
