http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629139 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629139#c0 Summary: Kernel 2.6.34 contains bug related to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23323 and SIGTRAP Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: root@mydublin.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 More details here http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23323 As others are saying, the version of the Kernel shipping with openSUSE 11.3 has a bug within which is preventing the games World of Warcraft and the latest StarCraft (also from Blizzard) from running with Wine, even the latest distributions of Wine are effected. This is not a wine problem but a problem apparently related to the actual Kernel. Other distributions kernels have had patches released and made available to sort this problem out but as of yet openSUSE has not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Wine 2. Install World of Warcraft 3. Try login to World of Warcraft 4. Game will crash 5. Read http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23323 for more detailed info Actual Results: Nothing special required, just try run world of warcraft through wine on openSUSE 11.3 Expected Results: World of Warcraft crashes. RIght folks I understand it's only a game but it is also a widely played game and it looks bad if a silly bug in the kernel of an otherwise brilliant Linux distribution (that being openSUSE of course!) is preventing this game from running. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
