https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229219 novell@spinink.net changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |novell@spinink.net Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #1 from novell@spinink.net 2007-01-16 16:58 MST ------- I could only find contact info for suseroot.com none of the other sites had an email/contact form. If anyone knows a way to contact any other site owner, let me know. The contents of the msg are as follows: Dear SuSE Community Contributor, I am contacting you on behalf of OpenSUSE-Community.org. We are currently a group of passionate SUSE users that generally hang out in #SUSE on irc.freenode.net. We spend our free time providing free technical support and consulting to other SUSE users. In this capacity, it becomes very clear that a more concerted effort is needed to consolidate documentation. Currently, new users are left to forage the Internet for answers to frequently asked questions such as; how to obtain mp3 support, dvd playback, etc. As you know, openSUSE.org is the official wiki where you can obtain information on most topics, but some topics such as mp3 playback cannot be discussed on the openSUSE wiki due to legal concerns. Because of this, we feel there needs to be 1 more site to cover these legally questionable topics. The fewer sites new users looking for answers have to find, the better. We need to make sure that all the topics we cover on our personal sites, are also covered on the officially wiki or when inappropriate for opensuse.org, on OpenSUSE-Community.org. I personally maintain www.SpinInk.net. Some of you have perhaps visited my site before. I have written many articles on various SUSE topics. But currently, I am far too busy to create content for my own site, much less on the wikis. Hell, it took me weeks to get around to writing this email. So I will not be making any major contributions to any wiki's any time soon. However if someone else wants to post my articles to the wiki, that is fine with me. This brings us to you. I would like 1 of 2 things from you. 1.If you have the time, we would appreciate it if you would take a moment to check the wikis and make sure that the topics you have covered on your own site, are accurately covered on the appropriate wiki. If your article is not covered, please add your content to the appropriate wiki. 2.If you do not have the time, could you please just write back and tell me if you are OK with another community member posting your articles to the appropriate wiki on your behalf. I believe that we are all on the same team with the same goals. We all want more people using Linux, and as members of the SuSE community, we should make sure that new users have as few problems as possible. One way to help achieve this goal is to make sure that support documentation is as easy as possible to find, accurate, and well written. Please help us with this goal buy contributing your articles to the appropriate wiki or give me the permission to have another community member submit your articles on your behalf. -- Thank you all for your time and contributions to the SuSE Community, Jacob Caudill Jake@SupportOSS.org www.SupportOSS.org www.SpinInk.net -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
